Even if end-of-the-world doomsday thrillers have already been done to death, so to speak, there's that real life ongoing ill-advised human tampering with nature that contributes to the repeatedly reawakened fear and dread of these movies. Based on the Richard Matheson sci-fi human extinction classic of the same name, I Am Legend is the third novel-to-screen adaptation. This time around, Will Smith does doomsday duty as determined scientist Robert Neville, who's in a race for the cure for a diseased and virtually disappeared mankind.
#2. The Dark Knight
I cannot wait for the next installment of the Batman series. Batman Begins was easily the best comic book movie ever. There will be a six-minute intro, which will be attached to IMAX screenings of "I Am Legend" starting December 14th. I won't share all the details here, but let's run down a few of the high points:
1. It begins with the first few minutes of the film, which introduce Heath Ledger's Joker to the audience.
2. A bank heist is involved.
3. William Fichtner sighting!
4. Explosions! Gunfire!
5. It ends with a series of clips of Batman in action.
Two words: Bad Ass
#3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I have been a long time fan of the Indiana Jones trilogy. I cannot WAIT for Harrison Ford to resume his role as Indy.

I am Legend looks awesome. If you've never seen "Omega Man" with Charlton Heston, it's based on the same book. Omega Man is 100% 1970's cheese, and is worth the watch just for that.
Haha. I will definetely have to rent that one just for the cheese. Isn't "I am Legend" the third attempt to bring the novel to the silver screen? Wasn't "Last Man on Earth" in 1964 also based on the book?
I think your correct.
Nothing like watching Chuck Heston shoot zombies from his apartment window with a Automatic Rifle while wareing a frilly pirate shirt. That is some cool stuff.
Also, I don't know if you remember me or not. I'm a friend of Brian's. We meet at the cottage once. Congrats on getting married. Tell Jeff I said "Yo, what up G". Keep bloggin'
All three of those movies are going to be bestest everest, espesch The Dark Knight.
For those not familiar with what Ledger is going to look like... as the Joker two words:

Now that you mention a frilly pirate shirt I will be sure to rent that movie.
Yes, I remember. I will be sure to tell Jeff "Yo what up G." He will appreciate that. He does own a velour track suit.
The papins and I went to see American Gangster which was an awesome movie! Denzel is so convincing in his role, and I haven't seen him in a darker one yet! I keep remembering him as the Prince in Much Ado About Nothing! Remember that Outlaw and Brian??? We'll have to do a movie night while everyone is home for the holidays.
Last night: The opening six-minute prologue of “The Dark Knight,” the sequel to the acclaimed “Batman Begins,” will be shown in its entirety before showings of “I Am Legend” at the Navy Pier Imax Theatre, 700 E. Grand Ave. “Legend” opens Friday, but the first showing at Navy Pier will be at 12:01 a.m.
