Rock-a-bye-baby

I know it is a little early to be picking out nursery colors...but I just can't resist! Here is my pick for decorating a nursery for a baby girl. I love everything about this room. The sleigh crib is slightly whimsical. I love the simplicity of the room complemented by a little flair...the light fixture. I think I would accent with lavender vs. pink.

And...my pick for a nursery for a baby boy. Still simple and classic, yet more square, masculine lines. I love the photo collage. I am definetely going to be snapping a lot of photos of our new baby!

Fortune Cookie Predictions

My parents came over yesterday to pick Eva up and to visit. It was so nice to see them! We went to P.F. Chang's for lunch and this is what our fortune cookies said:

Jeff's - "It"
Mine - "Children"
Mom's - "Girl"
Dad's - "Summer"

My dad said, "It looks like you are having a girl named Summer!" Haha. Too cute.

Baby News!!!

Jeff and I found out that we are expecting a baby! We are both very happy and can't wait to welcome the little bundle of joy this November. What a wonderful surprise! I added this ticker to my blog to start the countdown until Baby Burch arrives!!!

At the Ski Hill

Jeff and I went skiing this weekend. It was a ton of fun! I only went once last year, and before that I hadn't been in 8 years! It is like riding a bike. I have been skiing since I was old enough to walk, so picking it back up wasn't too hard.

Jeff is going skiing in a few weeks with his dad and brothers...wish I was going. I want to plan a trip out west with him next year. I would love to ski Lake Tahoe. I hear it is beautiful. This year...tropical vacation...next year ski vacation! A little skiing, a little sun, some hot chocolate, and maybe a trip to the spa. Sounds very nice this time of year. Especially, for this girl!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

My Valentine's Day was full of goodies! Champagne, roses, chocolate, and the love of my life! It truly was the perfect day to celebrate our very first Valentine's Day as a married couple.

I found a very special treat for Jeff...the Barefoot Contessa At Home Cookbook! He was very pleased. Inside the cover...her dedication read "My home is wherever Jeffrey is..." how fitting! Jeff adores her show and I can't wait to see what he decides to prepare from her collection of "fabulous" recipes!

Lent is here...

Lent is here! I have decided to give up treats. I cannot believe I am commiting myself to giving up all that is good and sweet for 40 days and 40 nights. No more peanut M&Ms after lunch...no more Starbucks chocolate chip cookies, gummy bears, pixie sticks, poptarts, or Reese's big cups. It will be a challenge, but hey I thrive on challenges.

Jeff asked, "What on earth are you going to eat without treats?" I guess we will find out...

The Ruby Slippers!

I was doing a little shopping in Royal Oak on my break from school and stumbled across these adorable little shoes! They remind me of the ruby slippers that Dorothy wore in "The Wizard of Oz." Someday I hope I have a girl...because if not, these are going to look really silly on a little boy. SO ADORABLE!
